It’s a little over 3 weeks to go until the 2025 season kicks off at Grampian Kart Club with Round 1 of the Boyndie Drome Open Challenge.
We are kicking off the season in style with thanks to Rosebank Garage Aberdeen and their generous sponsorship of Round 1 of the Boyndie Drome Open Challenge! Sponsoring both trophies and a drivers raffle for the event. There will be £150 of kart related prizes raffled to all those that enter by midnight Monday 3 March. So don’t hang around and get that entry in to be in with a chance of winning!
Rental Karts
With brand new karts for 2025 there is no better time to join in on the fun and still for only £80. Round 1 of our arrive and drive rental championship will kick off on Saturday 8 March. For round 1 only this will start at 3pm due to the limited daylight hours, all rounds thereafter will start at 4pm. For more details on the hire kart series see the hire kart series page.
Bambinos
Race day fee is free for Bambino competitors. GKC are piloting free entry for Bambino in a bid to help boost the grids for 2025. Entry required, see bottom of page to place an entry. Please note non-members will be charged a £10 non-member surcharge. Any additional options such as transponder hire (£10) and electric hook-up (£10 per 24 hours) is chargeable at the standard rate.
Saturday Practice
Saturday practice will be available to all owner drivers starting at 10 am and finishing at 3pm for the rentals. All Saturday BDOC practice thereafter will finish at 4pm. The cost is £20 for members and £30 for non-members per driver. Please book this on Alpha Timing.
Sunday Race Day
Please familiarise yourself with the rules and regulations for the 2025 BDOC season – these are largely inline with Motorsport UK rules. If you have any questions please get in touch ahead of the meeting.
Drivers briefing will be at 9:00am with a view to be finished up by 3:30pm. Full timetable to be confirmed.
Camping & Electric Hook-up
Access to the circuit grounds will be available from Friday evening for non-members. Anyone wanting access to electric hook-up can pre-pay this on Alpha Timing either during entry or afterwards in the shop. Please ensure you are familiar with the T&Cs around electric hook-up.
Feature Trophy
The feature trophy up for grabs on Sunday is the Dickie Bent Trophy – this is awarded by the marshals who will vote for who they believe to be the most deserved driver of the day for the award.
Alpha Timing
We are now using Alpha Timing as our entry system. This change means payment for your entry will be taken up front. If you enter and decide you’d like to withdraw your entry and do so before midnight Monday of the week of the event you will receive a full refund. After this point you will receive a 50% refund. Please email entry@grampiankartclub.com quoting the Driver’s name.
We would encourage everyone to enter as soon as they can commit to the weekend’s racing as this only helps encourage others to do so. Entries after midday Thursday of the week of the event will go off the back of the grid.
Second Driver Half Price
For any GKC family members with two children under the age of 16 years entered we will reduce the second race entry to 50%. This will be refunded the Monday after the event to the card used to pay.
Alpha Race Hub
We will be digitising as much as we can in 2025 including signing on and making use of Alpha Timing’s Race Hub app to publish grids and keep competitors notified throughout the weekend. You can download this app below:
