About

Founded in 1962

Grampian Kart Club (GKC) is a not-for-profit kart club run by volunteers to promote owner driver karting in the North East of Scotland.

Over the years the club has seen several extensions to the circuit with the current layout introduced for the 2003 season. The club has continued to invest in the facilities both on and off-circuit with showers, catering facilities, electric hook-up points and workshop for the club’s rental karts.

Nurturing talent

Karting is one of, if not the most competitive discplines in motorsport.

Household names in motorsport such as David Coulthard, Susie Wolf, Allan McNish and Paul Di Resta cut their teeth on Scottish kart circuits as young kids. A fun fact, Susie Wolf’s family used to travel from Oban to compete at Boyndie – Mum, Dad and brother all competed.

Whilst these are ‘headline’ names we have many members who go onto persue careers in motorsport including drivers, engineers and mechanics.

Not-for-profit

Since it’s founding, GKC has remained a club run for its members over profit.

As a club we rely heavily on volunteers to help us maintain and improve our facilities. Whether it’s lending a hand cutting the grass, painting or a bit DIY around the facilities. It all goes along way in keeping costs down and allowing the club to invest in improving the experience of our members.
