Volunteering

No orange army,
no racing.

Without volunteers GKC wouldn’t exist. Everyone from the committee to our race day officials are unpaid volunteers with a passion for motorsport.

As a Motorsport UK venue GKC can support any officials in their motorsport journey. Many officials that attend GKC over the years have gone on to support events like the Silverstone Grand Prix and Le Mans 24 hours. Amongst other opportunities in lower league car racing.

The club provides a fixed reimbursment to cover marshals and officials expenses.

Marshals

Anyone aged 15 years+ can become a marshal at GKC with no prior experience. The role is to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the event by performing duties such as signalling drivers, responding to incidents and clearing debris.

Officials

Running a race meeting requires a wide range of officials and skills. From the Clerk of the Course who has responsbility for the conduct and control of the event to ensure it’s run to regulation. Time keepers who keep the digital time keeping system running. Scrutineers who ensure karts are technically complient and safe.
